musings
hello. simone here. happy new year, all. i thought i would start a page on this site where i could ramble on about whatever. the blog part of this blog, if you will. so, here it goes. i’m not sure yet what i think of it or what it’s going to be. i’ve been following lots of different bogs lately and am fascinated by them and what they add to this interwebbed landscape. here’s one of my favorites: http://www.soulemama.com/soulemama/
it’s a new year. yes. lately, i’ve been working on my music/craft/creative room. going through old papers and sheet music and fabric scraps, deciding what to do away with and what and how to keep what needs to stay with me. i’ve recently started crafting more. it’s something i’ve always done (i love to make homemade cards). i’ve had a beautiful green vintage husqvarna sewing machine for 10 years, but until this past year, when i made prayer flags for my wedding (i got married to a wonderful man♥ at the most lovely lovefest) and more recently when i spent many hours behind the sewing machine, playing my part as santa’s elf (and listening to countless episodes of radio lab. love) have i noticed what this creative outlet (and outlet to an outlet. an extension chord?) does for me. it’s like cooking —in the wise words of kevin kling (paraphrased): i like to cook, because after a few minutes or hours, you have a completed thing. after spending so much time with plays and creations-in process, there is something so great about actually completing something— plus i like pretty fabric and buttons (and homemade bread and granola….) .
on that note, i must go and attend to the task at hand before this computer takes away another precious hour.
